Oakland Dust Poultry Rub delivers an instant “Whoa!” that comes from finely ground aromatic herbs made awesome by what I’m pretty sure is a blast of cumin. Black pepper finishes things off. A teaspoon of this stuff really wakes up my sausage gravy.
I get a very different flavor sensation than Ms. Freak does. Pulverized salt and fine mesh black pepper form the foundation, with crushed herbs and maybe a <em>hint</em> of cumin. All with a lemony thread that runs through it, brightening things up and filling out the flavor experience.
