Blazing Star’s Reaper is unmistakably a hot seasoning, thanks to the Carolina Reaper pepper in the blend. The heat registers pretty much immediately but then lots of chunks of turbinado sugar provide a welcome relief to the fire in my mouth. Salt, garlic and onion help round out the big flavors.

I loved this rub with everything I tried it with, from pork to popcorn. It has mega-grilled flavor with a sweet opening and a spicy finish. Nice balance but unquestionably a hot rub. Just not quite as hot as its stablemate, Blazing Star Scorpion.
